Wow, this is a tough place to get accustomed to, with the waist-high flames and the logs that crumble to ash under your feet. The cast-iron walls emit a dull red glow. The flue is not particularly climbable, but a set of doors opens periodically to admit more wood. This may not be a great place for books of the paper variety, but you catch a glimpse of a ceramic tablet lying amid the ash, bearing the title "The Book of Quotations".
